Coming from a low-income family, I had low self-esteem and was a loner. I struggled a lot in school and in life. I used to complain a lot on why things go wrong and when I don’t find the right answer, I tend to feel sad. But now, whenever I feel sad, I will de-stress myself by playing futsal and immersing myself with the feeling of winning, having the support from my teammates who would cheer me up! I mean something to my friends and teammates, so then why should I give up in life that easily. Midnight Football has given a profound impact in my life. I learnt to be more optimistic and overcome life’s challenges.
Every since my husband passed away, Naagiran wouldn’t talk much and he would often hide away from the camera during photos. I am very happy to finally see my son laughing and talking to others. It feels so good to see him change in a positive way. I feel hopeful for my son and I thank Midnight Football for all the care and attention invested in these youths.
Before joining Midnight Football, I was a very lazy person, I dislike sharing my thoughts with others and I only mix around with my own friends. But after joining lots of activities in MF program, I gained new friends from other schools and finally I managed to break through my comfort zone…MF helps to unite all races as a family…and discover our hidden talents.
I am glad that Global Peace could complement what the school is trying to do and my boys are getting what has been lacking in the school. As the school is not trained for things like character building, self-worth, and social emotional development, I am pleased that we have the help of Global Peace and I am sure it will have a positive impact on the boys.
