There are still orang asli communities (Peninsular Malaysia) and rural villages (East Malaysia) that are suffering from water poverty. Lacking access to clean water, they rely on contaminated surface water and rivers for drinking and washing. Waterborne and water-washed diseases are common, and the conditions in these villages are dire.
Through collaboration with funders and partners, we aim to uplift the lives and well-being of these communities by making water more accessible, providing clean filtered drinking water, and empowering each person with WASH training.
358 families in 31 villages now have access to clean water

Access to electricity is another major problem for underserved communities in rural locations. They have to rely on unsustainable and hazardous forms of energy like diesel-powered generators, palm kernel bonfires, candles, and heavy-duty batteries. In the long run, they end up paying more for energy than the average Malaysian.
All-Lights Village aims to provide these communities with sustainable solar energy to lessen their financial burden, free up their time for more productive work, and empower them to build for the future.

In many rural communities, the long-standing issues of unmet basic needs and financial hardship have overshadowed the importance of youth development. With high school dropout rates and lack of facilities or activities to occupy their time, these youth will miss out on the chance to learn and gain essential life skills.
Through sports, we aim to promote healthy development and cultivate positive values. It is a good way to spend their time and decreases the risk of them being involved in unhealthy activities. As sports are a team and social activity, the youth will benefit from learning skills like teamwork, self-confidence, and communication.

As we engage and interact with the underserved communities on a long-term basis, we learn about their personal struggles and difficulties. With the support of generous donors, we try to help as much as possible by providing food and medical supplies, connecting them to organisations and individuals who can assist, and financial support.
Pak Long, Kg. Teraling
Ever since his wife fell sick, 70-year old Pak Long has been caring for her and their four children. Both husband and wife are unable to work to support their family. We helped out financially and by providing food supplies but it is not enough to sustain them for long. If you’d like to help, please contact us.
Hamidah, Kg. Riang
Hamidah suffered a fracture on her elbow from falling down while playing. She didn’t go for her follow-up treatment after her fracture was set and as a result, her wound was infected and she had difficulty bending her arm. We brought her to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan in Kuantan for treatment and followed up on her condition on subsequent visits.
Kg. Bahu
This village is quite hard to access and the villagers do not have a lot of natural resources to rely on. During the monsoon season (Nov-Dec), villagers could not venture out and had exhausted their food supplies. We made it in time to replenish their supply so that they can weather out the next few weeks.

Bearing the theme “Raising Leaders of Tomorrow”, the camp raises moral and innovative leaders through empowering youths with social leadership. Through the camp, youths not only discover more about themselves, but also about others, which is the first step towards cultivating a peaceful environment and becoming a moral leader. Youths build strong relationships through this camp as they are given a platform to work together, which encourages them to put aside their differences and embrace the uniqueness of each person; this becomes an essential lesson to live harmoniously with each other.
The three-day camp was attended by 38 youths from rural areas of Sarawak
These teens aged between 14-16 are alumni of Yayasan LaSallian Kuching Learning Centres
