Themed “Illuminating Minds, Transforming Lives”, the Yayasan Lasallian Kuching (YLK) Educator’s Retreat saw a total of 34 educators from 10 YLK centres in Sarawak participating in the two-day programme. It was the first time that these teachers had the opportunity to come together and get to know each other through team-building games, discussions, and heart-to-heart sharing.
The centres are set-up in rural or poor communities so that the underprivileged children there have access to tuition and special learning classes regardless of race, religion, or background. The educators and administrators at these centres play a crucial role in improving the learning of these children – they are the guiding light for them in their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
This is part of our Inspiring Educators initiative to motivate and empower teachers to become the agents of change for education transformation. We organise Teachers’ Professional Development training and Educators’ Retreats.
