Kampung. Bukit Serok Lama | February 22, 2025
For the 5th time, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has partnered with us to create meaningful impact through corporate social responsibility (CSR). This marks our second corporate volunteering event of 2025, following NinjaVan’s visit last month for the chicken coop building initiative.
This time, 7 dedicated Mitsubishi volunteers joined us in Kampung. Bukit Serok Lama to install piping lines for a Solar Water Pump (SWP), ensuring sustainable and accessible clean water for the Orang Asli community.
During the inauguration event, Mitsubishi also presented a mock cheque of RM35,000, further supporting sustainable initiatives for the Orang Asli community. Their ongoing commitment continues to empower underserved communities.

Why solar water pumps?
Many Orang Asli villages still struggle with limited access to clean water, often relying on distant water sources that require long, exhausting walks. The Solar Water Pump provides a reliable and eco-friendly solution, reducing hardships and improving daily life for the community.

The villagers here rely on rainwater collected using zinc sheets and stored in big blue tanks. Their nearest water source is a 10-minute walk away, making access to clean water a daily challenge
Hands-on volunteering
Mitsubishi’s involvement went beyond funding, they rolled up their sleeves and contributed on the ground. Throughout the event, volunteers helped set up the piping system for the Solar Water Pump and engaged with the community, learning about their daily challenges and experiences.

For Yusma, this was her first time working on a piping system. Reflecting on the experience, she shared “I was shocked to see that some villages still don’t have easy access to clean water. In my hometown, Orang Asli communities already have proper water supply, but here, it’s a completely different reality.”
For Shah, another first-time volunteer, the experience was eye-opening.
“This was my first time visiting an Orang Asli village, and I was surprised that even in 2025, some communities still struggle to access clean water. Listening to the villagers share their experiences was really touching.”
Meanwhile, Fatin, a long-time volunteer who has been part of Mitsubishi’s CSR efforts since their first initiative at Kampung Guntom Minum Chempedak, reflected on how much the experience has shaped her perspective.
“I’ve been to quite a few Orang Asli villages with Global Peace, and compared to some, this one was a breeze,” she said with a smile.
She recalled her first journey deep into the villages and navigating challenging roads, and witnessing firsthand the difficulties faced by the Orang Asli. She expressed her hope that Mitsubishi’s continued support will make a lasting impact on the villagers’ lives and also thanked Global Peace Foundation (GPF) for facilitating these initiatives, making such collaborations possible.
Mitsubishi’s longstanding commitment
This initiative marks Mitsubishi’s 5th CSR collaboration with us, reflecting their long-term commitment to community empowerment. Over the years, their support has gone beyond clean water access to safe housing and solar power solutions.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia for partnering with us on this meaningful and impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Through the All-Lights Village Project, Safe Homes Program, and Clean Water Initiative, many Orang Asli families now have access to sustainable energy solutions, safer housing, and clean water access, significantly improving their daily lives.
This ongoing CSR partnership has not only enhanced community well-being but also promoted sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and social impact.
We look forward to continuing this corporate sustainability journey, fostering community empowerment and creating lasting change for those who need it most.
