As Ghandi said: “If we were to teach real peace to the world, we have to start with the children”. An early morning drive down to Hulu Tamu marked to be the first and most intriguing outreach experience for the Global Peace team.
Global Peace Foundation (Malaysia) were invited by the Association of Confucianism Malaysia to deliver a workshop for children ages between nine to thirteen years old. As we have anticipated, the main challenge was to grab and maintain the attention of these actively curious children.
The workshop ran smoothly with mainly, hands-on activities, games and interactive storytelling sessions.
Dr Teh: “Despite the challenge to get their attention, once you share a story and ask them questions, their level of engagement and interaction is kept really high.”
Children, in all their pureness in mind and heart can really be an inspiration. The interactive sessions really gave our team a glimpse into those pure minds. “Some of their replies blew my mind as I realised that their intuitions are so strong.” said Dr.Teh.
At some point, these children seemed to understand humanity and our correlation with it better than adults – they were able to express their truest thoughts and emotions without the concern of masking or hiding it.
Let’s take a step back, and learn from these wonderful children – the true definition of humanity!
