Biography

Vithiya has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Nottingham and is currently pursuing her postgraduate studies in Social Work. Her professional journey has taken her to the International Rescue Committee as a Caseworker helping refugees get from harm to home. She was also a Social Worker with the Women’s Centre For Change, where she worked with survivors of domestic violence.

Vithiya believes in the collective goodness of humanity. She is a pacifist who aspires to dedicate her life towards empowering her fellow human beings. She loves reading about spirituality and contemplating the light in all of us. She finds peace and comfort in the words and musings of great minds. But it’s not all zen with this girl. Being a lover of food, Vithiya loves to cook and dance while at it. She loves jazz, acoustic and contemporary music.

Her Role: The impact maker. Planning and executing life-changing programmes for beneficiaries.

We are, after all, one family under God. And with her role at the Global Peace Foundation, Vithiya wants to play an active part in the betterment of people’s lives. She hopes to leave this world a better place than when she arrived.

Fun Fact: Vithiya would one day like to live in the countryside in India, spending her days reading on a rocking chair and teaching children while her two German Shepherds chase chickens around the garden.
