Hello everyone, my name is Linda Heng. I am the General Manager in Global Peace Foundation Malaysia. It is my 5th year as a General Manager overseeing the organization management and internal control.
What inspired you to focus your career on empowering Indigenous communities?
For me, it is because everyone deserves an equal opportunity for human rights, especially in this beautiful country that I grew up in. I can see that the work that I am doing is directly contributing and reflecting the local indigenous community. I feel satisfied and empowered.
The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day, “#AccelerateAction,” encourages progress in areas that impact equality and empowerment:
(i) How does this theme reflect your personal journey in the impact creation sector?
In life, I love adventure, love to try different things, especially for the people I love and care about. It is an obligation for me to continue to pass this light on to people in need in our life. It is my passion and love that drives me in this beautiful journey.
(ii) Based on your experience, what methodologies or initiatives have proven most effective in advancing this objective?
Effective action is key to advancing this objective.

In what ways has your involvement as a member of the founding team at Global Peace Foundation Malaysia influenced your professional trajectory within the impact creation sector?
Passion is the key that ignites me, from the founding team to my professional work now. I am passionate about human empowerment, love and care for the community.
As a female leader within the impact creation sector, what would you identify as the primary factors contributing to your success?
Hard work, heart work and resilience play important roles in shaping who I am today.
Are there particular challenges related to Indigenous peoples that you anticipate GP will encounter in 2025? What recommendations or guidance or prevention would you offer in preparation for addressing these forthcoming challenges?
Consistency in team work and internal control is the key to success in the year 2025.
On International Women’s Day, what message or advice or guidance would you share with women aspiring to make an impact?
Be the woman you want to be in your life. I choose to be an empowered woman in all walks of my life.
