Each year, on March 8th, the world comes together to celebrate International Women’s Day, honoring the incredible achievements women have made across social, economic, cultural, and political landscapes.
In countries like Kazakhstan, volunteers ceremoniously present tulips to women. Meanwhile, in Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, and Uzbekistan, Women’s Day has been integrated with Mother’s Day celebrations. In Switzerland, the case of Verein KlimaSeniorinnen Schweiz and Others v. Switzerland represents a pivotal development in climate litigation and gender equality, to name a few.
As the world commemorates International Women’s Day 2025, Global Peace Foundation Malaysia acknowledges three esteemed women leaders:
Linda Heng, Cass Mah, and Mia Yusri, whose contributions deserve recognition. Their visionary leadership and unwavering commitment have significantly shaped our organization’s trajectory.
Here are their empowering messages for women who dream of making a significant difference in the world:

“Be the woman you want to be in your life. I choose to be an empowered woman in all walks of my life.”
Linda Heng, the General Manager

“Change doesn’t always begin with grand gestures—it often starts with small, consistent acts of courage, kindness, and purpose.”
Cass Mah, the Senior Manager

“Embrace the courage to dream big! I once hesitated to envision a distant future, but now those dreams serve as my guiding light. They spark thought, ignite conversation, inspire action, and ultimately transform into consistent daily habits.”
(In Mia’s own words: “Jangan takut untuk bermimpi besar! Saya dulu rasa takut untuk memikirkan jauh ke depan tetapi sekarang mimpi itu lah yang menjadi halatuju saya melalui pemikiran, membawa kepada percakapan, membawa kepada tindakan, dan akhirnya menjadi tindakan harian yang konsisten.”)
Mia Yusri, the Field Office Manager
These distinguished leaders persist in inspiring others, not solely through their notable achievements but also by guiding and mentoring the next generation of women leaders within Global Peace Foundation Malaysia.
We wish to convey our sincere gratitude for their outstanding contributions to both Global Peace Foundation Malaysia and the wider indigenous community. Further insights into their impactful work can be found in each featured article:
