Dear volunteers, partners and funders,
Greetings of peace.
We are writing to share important information about the steps that we are taking in line with the Movement Control Order announced by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the Malaysian Prime Minister on the 16th of March 2020 that will take effect from 18th March – 28th April 2020. This nationwide effort to protect the well-being of our entire community, especially the most vulnerable, requires all of our participation. Together, we are making an effort to do our part.
During this period, the Global Peace Foundation Malaysia team will not be operating at our office and will be working from home. We will be available to conduct meetings virtually, through email, phone calls, or Skype.
Regretfully, having our beneficiaries in mind, Global Peace Foundation Malaysia is unable to enter any of the Orang Asli villages for the time being, until COVID-19 subsides. We will also be postponing all trips, including those to East Malaysia. Please note that this will affect the timeline of our projects such as Communities Unite for Pure Water (CUP), Midnight Football, Born to Be, and All-Light Village.

While these are challenging times, please rest assured that Global Peace Foundation Malaysia is taking action to prioritize the well-being of our team, partners, and communities that we work closely with. We are committed to doing everything we can to continue helping marginalized communities while keeping them safe. As we are all adapting and responding in our own way, we hope that everyone is taking personal and collective responsibilities by adhering to the controlled-movement order, bearing in mind that this is necessary to curb the spread of COVID-19 for the safety of our community. Now more than ever, we need to look out for each other.
