The Global Peace Education Forum presents an opportunity for youth, educators, public and private sectors to address key challenges in education in Malaysia. Allowing for an unhindered presentation of views in regards to issues faced in education and sharing of best practices helps create a collective effort in transforming education.

By providing educators with retreat outside of the school environment, which allows them to freely interact with each other, with conducive activities, is paramount to fostering togetherness and forging trusting relationships.

The Educators’ Retreat reinvigorates a sense of purpose, and rekindle the passion of educators. This ultimately promote educators collaboration, as well as teacher-student relationship, which are critical to students’ learning and achievement.

Study has shown that ongoing professional development for teachers generates greater motivation, accountability and classroom improvement. CCI offers training and resources for teachers development based on specific needs of the school. Follow through with the teachers after training is done for sharing of challenges and successes.

Studies show that schools with high social capital (interactions and collaborations among teachers) showed greater students achievement. CCI facilitates teachers’ collaborations and peer support by forming teachers team based on classes and teaching subject. Teachers team meets at least once a week to discuss issues and share best practices.
