POWER OF 10 SEN

TOGETHER, WE CAN MAGNIFY THE VALUE OF 10 SEN

2008

Launched in 2008 in conjunction with Malaysia’s Global Peace Foundation, Power of 10 Sen is different from most humanitarian efforts because it’s not about the collection of millions of dollars. It’s about empowering millions of children. We conduct continuous donation drives in universities, secondary schools, primary schools, and even in kindergartens to promote the culture of service and living for the sake of others. Through our partnerships and alliances with prominent NGOs, corporate companies, and government organizations who also believe in the power of our children, we aim to inculcate a sense of collective responsibility among our supporters while effectively raising funds for the most vulnerable and needy of our human society.

2010

Power of 10Sen: Communities Unite for Purewater (CUP) is an online awareness campaign and donation drive funded by our corporate sponsors. It aims to engage not only young people but the whole nation in an effort to provide clean water for poverty-stricken communities in Cambodia. 10sen will be donated by our corporate sponsors for every click on our online banner. The collected funds will be channeled to ‘Research and Development International Cambodia’ (RDIC) to purchase and install water collection tanks and ceramic filter systems for clean water supply of the Cambodian people. This campaign launched on February 9th, 2010.

GLOBAL PEACE LEADERSHIP EXCHANGE (GPLE)

Since April 2011, the GPLE has brought together two countries for this unique purpose. Leaders from various sectors of Korean and Malaysian society participated in the programme which was held six times in Malaysia and once in Korea. The program drew a great response from each visiting Korean delegation, expressing their high admiration for the ‘unity in diversity’ spirit of Malaysian society.

ALLLIGHTS PROJECT – IN CONJUNCTION WITH GPLE SABAH

The Alllights Village project brings inexpensive, environmentally friendly solar lanterns to remote communities with limited access to electrical power, providing nighttime illumination for children’s studies and other household needs.

GPF Korea previously supported All Lights Villages in the Philippines as part of a joint Global Peace Leadership Exchange initiative between GPF Korea and the GPF Philippines. Leadership exchanges between Korea and Malaysia have been ongoing, and with the Sabah initiative, the All Lights Village project is expected to grow based on the development model in the Philippines.
