An intern here, at the Global Peace Foundation (Malaysia) is an individual who believes in the vision and mission of the organisation and is passionate in uniting humanity as one human family.
The hired intern is to provide support to deliver Global Peace’s overall work plan. The incumbent as a trainee, will be guided and is expected to contribute towards the overall growth of the organisation (directly/indirectly).

The internship provides a holistic-personal and professional learning ground for individuals who are looking for a meaningful engagement and impact-creation by serving communities while growing as a moral and competent social leader.

An intern here, at the Global Peace Foundation (Malaysia) is equivalent as of a full-time employee/team member. You are responsible in the following areas, unless otherwise stated;

Resource Development

We look for individuals passionate in humanitarian topics and, is self-motivated and proactive. Generally, good language skills, communication and interpersonal skills.

❖ Experience in grassroots youth and community work. Getting to work with different communities and groups of people.

❖ Obtain personal development while gaining a professional experience.

❖ A good balance of in the office and on the ground job.

❖ Interns will be facilitated through an Internship Learning Plan for interns to best benefit from the internship experience.

Generally, the majority of our interns are students pursuing tertiary education. We do however, accept young graduates and people seeking for an opportunity to explore their strengths by working on grassroots peace-building efforts. We also accept talented Masters and PhD students.

General Questions

What are the minimum and maximum period of internship?

The minimum period of internship is 3 months and the maximum period of internship is one year.

How many hours and days are interns required to work?

Your hours of work are based on the normal operating hours here, at the Global Peace Foundation (Malaysia) is from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, every Monday to Friday, unless stated otherwise. There are particular times at which, interns are required to work on weekends or at different hours or durations.

What if I am an international student?

We welcome all people, regardless of identities; race, religion and nationalities who seek for a meaningful internship experience by contributing to peace-building efforts with us. International applicants who are required to have visa need to apply and pay for the visa. We can only assist you with the procedure and application.

Where is the internship located?

We are located at Selangor, Malaysia. Interns are required to move/travel to different locations if need be, based on the engagement or projects involved in. The office address is: 3A08 Block A Kelana Centre Point, No 3 Jalan SS7/10, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, 47301, Malaysia

Will I be paid for this internship?

All interns here, at the Global Peace Foundation (Malaysia) are subject to a stipend of RM300 per month. Allowance is payable once a month at month end in accordance with the GPF Malaysia standard payroll practices.

Is there any financial or organizational support for housing issues?

There is no such support. Recommendations on housing options can be provided upon request.
