NATURE EXPEDITION

Four days of trekking in the Annapurna region – while enjoying the spectacular view of the Himalayas range, you get to lead and develop an intimate team. There will be time for quiet self-reflection and experience sharing.

Arrival at Kathmandu, Welcome Reception and Orientation

Forming the capital city of the Republic of Nepal, Kathmandu is known as the largest Himalayan state in Asia and the largest metropolis in Nepal. Check-in and freshen up for an informative and fun orientation session with delegates from various countries whom you would be spending an adventurous 11 days with as one family!

Youth Forum on Sustainable Development Goals • Leadership Workshop

In line with the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, you will take active part in the SDG panel discussion to realise these goals for you are the actives drivers of change in the local community and the world.
The Global Peace Leadership workshop taps into quintessential frameworks to global leadership through hands on activities that will unleash your individual strengths, purpose and empathy that builds self worth and social skills.

Day 3

Cultural Expedition in Kathmandu • Travel to Dhading

Kathmandu, Nepal – A riot of sights, sound, and smell!

Immerse yourself in culture as you visit the stunning attractions listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites such Pashupatinath Temple, Durbar Square and the enchanting Swayambhunath Stupa. During night time, camp under the stars as you experience the feeling of staying in a tent as the locals had to during the Dhading earthquake. An activity focused on sharing will also take place in the evening.

Day 4

Dhading Post-Earthquake Community Visit and Service

As part of the holistic and experiential learning that GYPE offers, you will be part of community visits in order to develop leaders who are conscious of global issues such as the devastating Earthquake in Nepal. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to interact with the affected families and understand the lifestyle and living conditions of these families who are still living in the aftermath of a natural disaster, and learn how to help them.

Day 5

Service and Interaction in Dhading Earthquake Community • Depart to Charaudi

Picking up from yesterday’s community visit and service, you will get to spend more time with the community. Get ready for a day of education and service as you spend more time with the communities affected by the earthquake and experience the Global Peace Foundation guiding value of Living for The Greater Good.

Depart to Charaudi for a good night rest before tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 6

White Water Rafting at Trishuli • Travel to Pokhara

Partake in an exhilarating water rafting experience in the Trishuli River that would put your team working and leadership capabilities the test. It is an excellent river for some exciting, but not too challenging, rapids.

And then travel to and spend the night in one of the most popular destinations in Nepal, Pokhara.

Day 7

Pokhara City Tour

Explore Nepal’s Number 1 adventure and leisure city. Home to many natural beauties like Phewa Lake, Nepal’s second largest lake described as the mirror of Himalaya, and Devi’s Falls, which holds a mysterious legend. Pokhara is also known for its numbers of Buddhist and Hindu temples, including the World Peace Pagoda, as well as numerous caves that are held sacred in the heart of the people of Nepal. Don’t miss this chance to indulge in nature and spiritual all in the same place.

Adventure Trekking from Phedi • Overnight in Dhampus

“To Adventure is to Find Yourself Whole”! Breathe in the fresh mountain air as they explore the spectacles of Nepal’s outdoors through trekking activities – a profound self-discovery journey that is sure to be unforgettable!

Pokhara is famous for being the start of many treks across the Himalaya region. You will be trekking across the Annapurna region, starting from Phedi, towards one of the most visited trekking destinations, Dhampus. The entire village of Dhampus is facing the Himalayas, offering a panoramic view of the mountain range.

Leadership Workshop • Adventure Trekking from Dhampus to Australian Camp

Kick start your trekking journey with team-building, essential to a meaningful journey where mutual support and interactions take place. Participate in a leadership workshop for a thought provoking session.

Prepare yourselves for another exciting trekking adventure from Dhampus to Australian Camp, situating in the center of Dhampus Jungle. These places form the perfect setting for an activity sure to test your endurance and team spirit, relax the mind and help you realize the significance of safeguarding the wonders of Mother Nature.

Day 10

Adventure Trekking from Australian Camp to Kande • Reflections

Get ready for the last stretch of your trek across the Annapurna region from the Australian Camp. Trek from the Australian Camp to Kande and meet some friendly locals along the way and learn about their communities and lifestyle.

As the experience in Nepal draws closer to the end, the program emphasizes on the powerful act of reflection and sharing of takeaways.

Day 11

Return from Pokhara to Kathmandu • Graduation • Farewell Dinner

Return to Kathmandu by bus, where you will be presented a certificate to symbolize your graduation from Global Peace Youth Exchange. Right after the graduation ceremony, you will be treated to a farewell dinner to celebrate your graduation as GPYE Alumni! Enjoy your last meal with your new found family in Nepal and prepare your departure flight the next day.

Anyone between 18 – 35 years old can apply, we will review your application and inform you within a few days. If you are below 18 or above 35 and are very eager to join GPYE, you may still apply and tell us why joining GPYE means something to you.

The outdoor activities are designed for people with average fitness. If you are worried about your physical fitness, do let us know what you can and cannot do and we will advise you if this is suitable for you. We have had a delegate (over 95 kg weight) who thought he wouldn’t make it and through the team support and pure determination, he made it through, and that totally changed what he thought about himself.

Once you applied online, we will get back to you in 3-5 days if your application is accepted. The payment details will then be sent to you.

The fee covers lodgings, meals, and domestic transportation throughout the program. The program starts with dinner on October 6 and ends with breakfast on October 17. Not included in the fee are your flight tickets and airport transfers to the hotel in Kathmandu.
